Cost of Production of Organic Fertilizer
This Blog will show you how much would be needed to produce the different Liquid Organic Fertilizers (LOF) that you will use for your organic farming. The plant materials used here are just some of the examples; you can use other materials depending on what is available in your locality.
Tea Manure
Partially dried manures of cow, carabao, horse or sheep may be purchased at low cost. It contains about 1% N, 1% P, 1.5% K and fuel range trace elements.
The cost of production of the succeeding batches will be reduced because only animal manure will be bought.
Fermented Plant Juice from Kakawate Leaves
Kakawate or Madre de Cacao contains about 3.8 % N, 1.8 % P and 2.8 % K + ME (please note that the nutrient content of Kakawate or any plant material may vary depending on the soil fertility of the area where it was collected).
Note: The cost of production of the succeeding batches will be reduced because only brown sugar and storage jar will be purchased
Fermented Fruit Juice from Ripe Banana, Papaya and Squash
You can find overripe banana, papaya and squash in the marketplace and normally you can have them for free or you can purchase them at a very low price. Aside from a combination of these fruits, you can make FFJ from a single material. You have a wide variety of fruits, vegetable and root crops to choose from so you can make different FFJ’s depending on what material is available.
Note: The cost of production of the succeeding batches will be reduced because only brown sugar and fruits will be purchased.
Fish Amino Acid from Spoiled Fish and Trash Fish
Materials for FAA can be collected free or can be purchased at low cost from the marketplace. FAA is a good source of nitrogen and potassium. It contains about 9% N and 2.5% P
Note: The cost of production of succeeding batches will be reduced because only brown sugar, spoiled fish and trash and storage jar will be purchased.
